What We Do?

Angel Hair Foundation is a private, non-profit corporation that reaches out to kids in Oregon who have lost their hair due to medical illness. The foundation provides the funding needed to purchase "Angel Hair Systems" for kids and teens.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to help children who deal with social acceptance issues because of physical appearances, specifically hair loss. We are committed to improving the quality of life for these children by helping them regain their positive self-image.

How we got started?

Angel Hair Foundation founder, Staci Wright, is a cancer survivor herself. Angel Hair Systems are available to all kids and teens who live or are treated in Oregon thanks to Staci.

Staci Wright, a strong and happy 13 year-old-girl, had a lot going for her. In January, 2006, Staci's world turned upside down when she was diagnosed with cancer. When she started losing her hair during aggressive chemotherapy treatment, her parents searched for a comfortable realistic looking wig. They found a cranial prosthesis hair system that was so real looking that when she wore it, no one – not even the doctors – could tell it wasn't her real hair. Staci calls it her Angel Hair.

Staci's Angel Hair gave her the confidence to live the same lifestyle she had before her cancer treatment. Even though cancer had interrupted a year of her life, she was able to regain the confidence of a young woman with a bright future.

During Staci's chemo she saw other kids going through the same difficult times and she wanted to help. In order to help other kids regain their confidence like she had, she came up with the concept of the Angel Hair Foundation. Cranial prosthesis costs about $1,500 per system. Many families do not have those resources and cannot afford the system, especially when the medical bills start coming in. The Angel Hair Foundation provides cranial prostheses (Angel Hair Systems) free to kids and teens that are suffering from hair loss.
